James switches to the Protyre Ginetta GT5 Challenge with Optimum Motorsport

Friday 8th May 2015

After a successful test with Optimum Motorsport in March, James will make the switch to the Protyre Ginetta GT5 Challenge. He will be racing under the Professional Motorsport World Expo racing with Optimum Motorsport banner.

The GT5 Challenge supports the British GT package, one of the largest race packages in the UK. The package travels to some of the best tracks in the UK, including Silverstone GP, Brands GP and Donington Park GP as well as Snetterton, Oulton Park and Rockingham. In addition, the package heads into Europe for a weekend at Spa de Francorchamps, home of the Belgium Formula 1 Grand Prix.

James has missed the first three rounds of the 21 round series, but is confirmed to race rounds 4 through 18 with the intention to raise additional funding to compete in the final three rounds at Donington Park in September.

I’m really excited for this new challenge. I have always wanted to race in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge, so having the opportunity is fantastic. I have a lot to learn as the car is very different to anything I have raced before. I believe I can learn quickly, with the help of current championship leaders, Optimum Motorsport.

I would like to thank Professional Motorsport World Expo for their support. Without them, I would not be racing this year, so I am extremely grateful.
